I’m John – someone who loves classical music and wants to write about it.

I’ve visited concert halls and opera houses throughout Europe, in Africa and the Middle East, plus South Asia. I’m particularly keen on performances of, and works by, Wagner, Richard Strauss, Mahler, Bruckner, Elgar, Shostakovich, Britten and Vaughan Williams

…and I’ve been doing this since the late 1960’s. My writing here though will only cover the period 2018 to date
